PAPER SUPPLY CRISIS

Due in part to the Chilian earthquakes, where nearly 10 percent of the world’s pulp is produced and also because of recent Finnish strikes, paper demand is about to outstrip supply for the first time since the 1970’s.

Paper merchants are forecasting increases in paper of between 10% and 25% and moreover shortages of paper are predicted.

Because of the highly unsettled nature of the industry for the foreseeable future, we are unable to guarantee to retain our pricing levels in our normal way.  We may therefore, have to make adjustments to our normally stable pricing matrices from time to time to offset any increases as we, like all other printers, will be unable to soak up all of these extra costs.
